Who We Are

Get Ready for - excitement!

If you're 12 or older, want to meet friends and try something new, then we have just the thing for you. By joining Air Cadets, you are saying YES! to fun activities and exciting challenges supervised by trained adult leaders.

What do Air Cadets Do?

Lots of different things, many of which relate to flying.

Team Sports
Effective Speaking and Leadership Training
Summer Camps and International Trips
Military Marching and Parades

You'll participate in these activities during the weekly meetings and on the weekends. You will also support your community by taking part in citizenship events organized by your cadet squadron.

Also in Squamish we are surrounded by a beautiful natural paradise and try to get out there. We have winter hikes and snowshoeing and there are three weekend 'exercises' which are camping trips where cadets are able to practice their newly learned survival skills.

How do I get involved?

The Squamish Air Cadets meets Tuesdays 6:30 - 9:30 at Don Ross School. On your first night bring a parent or guardian and your care card. After that you can be dropped off although parents are expected to help out on the organizing side for special events.

What does it cost?

The entire Air Cadet Program is free and available to all youth 12 - 18 years, male or female. However, in order to run the program in Squamish, we need to rent facilities and pay an assessment fee to the BC League to cover gliding and other administration. The Squadron Sponsoring Committee requests a $150 per cadet registration fee as part of their fundraising program. This can be paid all at once or $15 per month. If you join up in January, this will be $75 (reduced by half).

What if I don't like it?

You are welcome to come out and try things for a few weeks to see if you like it. We will not cash any checks for 3 weeks. At that time you'll be measured for your uniform.
